Greenstone and Camco launch new carbon and energy reduction web-based service to help up to 34,600 franchises in the UK

Tuesday 4 May 2010 – Greenstone Carbon Management, the global specialist carbon solutions company, has announced today that it is working with Camco, an international leader in providing strategic, technical and financial solutions for carbon related issues, to provide energy efficiency and carbon reduction programmes for franchises operating in hospitality, retail and leisure sectors. Greenstone and Camco have combined their market leading software and advisory services to develop the new web-based service which will allow each individual site to accurately measure, manage and learn how to reduce its own energy consumption in a cost effective and accurate way. Users of the service will benefit from cross-sector learning and savings from bulk procurement of low carbon measures and services.

According to the 2008-2009 franchise survey carried out by British Franchise Association* and NatWest there are some 34,600 individual franchise units currently operating in the UK.

The launch of the new service coincides with the recently announced financial support from Government Feed-in Tariff funding scheme** which is offering ‘Cash Rewards for Low Carbon Electricity and Heating’.
